When He Has Tried Me
Author: Richard Alfred Jacob
Publisher: Xulon Press
Dr. Richard Alfred Jacob pastored the Whitefied Baptist Church (13 years), in Whitefield, Bangalore, India. He graduated from Calvary Baptist Bible College and Seminary with B.Th., (1994), B.D., (1995), and M. Div. (2001) degrees. He was part of the faculty of Calvary Baptist Bible College and Seminary for 11 years (1994-2005). By God's grace, he along with his wife, Leah Jacob and three precious children, Gideon, Emerald and Marcus, has served the Lord in the following ministries: Sunday school, youth related ministries and Vacation Bible School. God led his family to the United States in 2007. He completed his Doctorate in Ministry with Louisiana Baptist University and Theological Seminary (Shreveport, Louisiana, USA) in 2008. He counts it a great blessing to be part of the LBU family. He desires to serve God in full time ministry, praying for God to use him in any way He deems best. I read the manuscript of 'WHEN HE HAS TRIED ME' and found it very interesting and informative. I have found it to be an excellent work that I thoroughly enjoyed. It was indeed a blessing to read. Dr. Roy Wallace Academic Dean, Louisiana Baptist University
A novel approach to analysing initial-boundary value problems for integrable partial differential equations (PDEs) in two dimensions, based on ideas of the inverse scattering transform that the author introduced in 1997. This method is unique in also yielding novel integral representations for linear PDEs. Several new developments are addressed in the book, including a new transform method for linear evolution equations on the half-line and on the finite interval; analytical inversion of certain integrals such as the attenuated Radon transform and the Dirichlet-to-Neumann map for a moving boundary; integral representations for linear boundary value problems; analytical and numerical methods for elliptic PDEs in a convex polygon; and integrable nonlinear PDEs. An epilogue provides a list of problems on which the author's new approach has been used, offers open problems, and gives a glimpse into how the method might be applied to problems in three dimensions.
SCRAP TIRE DERIVED GEOMATERIALS is a compilation of peer-reviewed papers presented at the International Workshop on Scrap Tire Derived Geomaterials (IW-TDGM 2007) in Yokosuka, Japan in March 2007.The workshop was the first ever international forum on scrap tire derived geomaterials (TDGM), bringing together people from various disciplines working in industry, academia and public sector to discuss the latest ideas and development in the field, and disseminating information about experiments, numerical modeling, design and practical applications related to scrap tire derived geomaterials (TDGM). In recent years emerging geomaterials derived from scrap tires have been receiving increasing attention and gaining acceptance as suitable and alternative geomaterials worldwide, since they provide cost-effective solutions to many practical problems. This book presents current research and describes advances. It reflects the international significance of such recycle materials and discusses the use of whole tires, tire shreds and tire chips, as well as tire chips mixed with soils and/or treated materials. SCRAP TIRE DERIVED GEOMATERIALS also includes discussion about the geoenvironmental impact and assessment, with case studies, novel concepts and field applications. It also contains information pertaining to mechanical properties and modeling. SCRAP TIRE DERIVED GEOMATERIALS provides a wealth of knowledge and information. It promotes the geotechnical approach for material recycling of tire derived geomaterials, contributing to a sustainable global environment. This book is aimed at people working in industry, academia and public sector, related to geotechnical engineering, waste reuse and management, sustainable construction and cost-performance.
Conversations with Mama
Author: Milton K. Sanderford, Susan K. Sanderford
Conversations With Mama! (If This is Heaven Why Are the Kids Still Calling?) What is it like to die? How do we feel? Do we see God? What is heaven like? What form do we take? Do we recognize our loved ones? Are we punished for our mistakes? What is our purpose? Are extraterrestrials real? Who are they? Why are they here? Should we fear them? These and many other questions are answered from beyond the grave! As prophesied 20 years prior to her death, when Milt Sanderford's mother Trudy Alcorn died, they began work on Conversations With Mama to assist those who are curious, concerned or even fearful about death and the dying process. With the assistance of an internationally acclaimed spiritual medium, communication was established. Seven one-hour-long conversations took place between Milt and his mom, Trudy Alcorn. With the same sense of humor she carried back to the spiritual world, Trudy's words will inspire, provoke-and in some cases, shock you! Trudy Alcorn died and now she's ready to share that experience.
Throughout the centuries certain Christians chose to live out the challenges of the Gospel in communities that withdrew from the common and conventional in the world. This book studies this phenomenon and focuses on a number of contemporary Christian communities, lay and religious, who respond to the Gospel call to discipleship in a radical way, whether by being communities of peace and reconciliation, of social ministry and solidarity with the poor, of service to the Church, or of prayer and contemplation.

Not Just Pumping Iron
Author: Edward W. L. Smith
Publisher: Charles C Thomas Pub Limited
"This is a Ph.D. dissertation. Arguing against the view that postmodernism is marked by ""the waning of affect,"" this book investigates the fate of sentimentality in postmodernist fiction. The investigation focuses on the novels of the British author, Graham Swift, tracing in them the emergence of a blending of representations of sentimentality with a postmodernist aesthetics and a postmodern ethico-spiritual imagination - a blending resulting in what is designated by the shorthand ""the sentimentum."" The expression of the sentimentum is further shown to rely on Swift's move toward the fulfillment of an aesthetic of vulnerability, which neutralizes the opposition between irony and sentimentality, and which also corresponds to an ethics of vulnerability that has found its formulation in the philosophy of Emmanuel Levinas. Through close readings of Swift's novels, from The Sweet Shop Owner to Last Orders, it is shown how both the aesthetics and the ethics of vulnerability are gradually more pronounced and affirmed through each successive installment in Swift's oeuvre. Ultimately, though, the ambition of the book is to bring attention to an aesthetic and thematic configuration that may be found in a number of postmodernist novels. Hence, the study is concluded by comparative and complementary readings of novels by Julian Barnes, Penelope Lively and Jeanette Winterson that illustrate the wider relevance of the concepts of the sentimentum and of aesthetics of vulnerability."
