En los meses cálidos hay excelentes rutas de senderismo entre cedros y flores silvestres, altas cumbres y santuarios antiguos fundados por ascetas. En invierno todo está cubierto de nieve y el esquí es de primera; se puede combinar el esquí o el senderismo con sumergirse en un onsen (aguas termales de origen volcánico).
